Tony Davis is recognized as a world expert in the areas of Direct Selling, MLM, Networking, and Independent Agency. As far back as 1974 he was acting as legal adviser to the Australian Direct Selling Association.
In the late 70s Tony set himself up as a specialist in this area and has since that time been involved in advising in the establishment of more than 1000 direct selling, MLM and networking companies.
He personally ran the 7 year battle against the Australian Taxation Office on behalf of World Book Australia Pty Ltd, which established in the court of Appeal that where people are paid for obtaining a result they are true independent contractors and not liable for employee tax deductions.
Tony was also part of the team who won the historic battle on behalf of Troubleshooters Available, establishing the right of independent contractors to operate outside of Australian industrial legislation’s and be award free.
Tony has been involved in many battles with payroll tax, income tax, and industrial relations defending the rights of independent contractors.
He was a keen supporter of the new legislation introduced by the Commonwealth in which he had been corresponding with the Prime Minister for two decades and was most pleased with the introduction of the new independent contractors’ legislation.
